Lighting
The type of lighting can change the appearance of your WaterHog mat, making it look lighter or darker, or even giving it a blue, orange, or green tint. Factors such as time of day and weather conditions can also influence how your mat appears.
To demonstrate, we’ve photographed a camel-colored WaterHog mat in four common lighting settings. Keep in mind, lighting can vary significantly from household bulbs to natural daylight, impacting the overall look.
Flooring
Next to the lighting setting, the colour of your mat can be significantly influenced by the surrounding floor. Darker floors tend to make mat colours appear more vibrant, while lighter floors can soften the hue.
The contrast between the mat and the floor impacts how the mat’s colour and brightness are perceived. When selecting a mat for your business, it’s essential to consider the floor colour to ensure the mat either complements or stands out as desired.
- Finishes - Glossy floor mats make colours brighter, while matte floors soften them.
- Contrast - Dark mats on light floors create bold contrast, while light mats on dark floors appear brighter.
- Tones - Warm floors can dull cool mats, while cool floors enhance warm mats.
