3 step Entry System
Stop dirt and moisture at the door
85% of dirt, dust, and moisture brought into a building can be contained within the first 6 meters with proper matting. Mountville Mills developed a 3 step Entry System for this very reason. The 3 mat types that make up this system are scraper mats, scraper/wiper mats (like WaterHog), and wiper mats (carpeted).
Scraper Mats
The first step is the placement of the Scraper mats. These types of mats are placed outside the facility as your first defense against dirt, grime, and moisture. Mats like our SuperScrape feature surface cleats designed to scrape tough dirt and grime from shoes with the bi-level design trapping dirt below foot level. On the other hand, the Optibrush mats are available in various colors and have a surface constructed to filter dirt and moisture away with drainable borders.
WaterHog Mats
The second line of defense is the scraper and wiper mat (WaterHog). Depending on your entryway and the mat you choose, WaterHog mats can be placed indoors or outdoors. WaterHog mats have a bi-level surface that removes and traps dirt below foot level. They have also a specially designed water dam border that holds up to 4 liters of water per square meter. The durable PET fabric dissipates water to make the drying process faster than standard fabrics.
Carpeted Mats
Wiper mats (carpeted) finish off the 3 step system. They absorb the last bit of dust and moisture off your shoes. Mountville Mills offers several logo mat options to aid in the promotion of your company like our ColorStar mats. Solid ColorStar Unicolor mats are also available with the same fade-resistant, stain-resistant, eco-friendly PET surface. Additional solid carpeted mats are available, like Karaat or MicroLuxx if you're looking for something ultra-absorbent.
